On December 4, Red, White and Blue premiered starring John Boyega. The next film, Alex Wheatle, with newcomer Sheyi Cole premiered last Friday, and the final film Education featuring Kenyah Sandy and Sharlene Whyte is set to premiere this Friday December 18.

Small Axe’s Red, White and Blue

Education tells the coming-of-age story of a young boy caught in the grips of a system of racism and oppression against London’s West Indian community in the ’80s. Sharlene Whyte (We Hunt Together, Casualty) stars as the mother of the young boy who has to come to terms with the reality her child faces. Kingsley, played by Kenyah Sandy, and his mother Agnes face tremendous opposition but come together in poignant ways to tackle the institutional oppressions that face them.
