If you have ever eaten fish sticks and custard or felt the urge to stroke a blue police box and call it “Sexy,” you probably have November 23 circled in TARDIS blue on your calendar. That is the worldwide premiere date for “The Day of the Doctor,” a special episode of Doctor Who meant to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the epic British sci-fi drama.
I (@JulieKang) will be live-tweeting the episode from The Nerds of Color twitter handle, airing on telly screens and simulcast at movie theatres (in 3D!) all over the planet at 2:50 EST.

In the meantime, let’s take a roll call: tell us your favorite Doctor and companion in the comments below!
Classic Who:4th/Sarah Jane Smith
Modern Who: 9th/Captain Jack Harkness (such a a different character than the one on Torchwood)
Awesome! Great call on Captain Jack!
Mine are:
4/Sarah Jane for Classic Who
10/Martha Jones for New Who
David Tennant was my favorite Doctor and Amy Pond was my favorite companion. Yeah. I’m a NuWhovian. :-p
Well, maybe Martha Jones.
I will definitely join you on Twitter.
Eleven and the Ponds. Definitely. Although Ten and Donna are a close second, and Sarah Jane and anybody.
My favorite Doctor is a toss up between 9 and 10, with Eccleston narrowly edging out Tennant (I like his crazy eyes, what can I say?). Favorite companion: Donna Noble. Sweatpants & Coffee will join the Twitter party for sure!
