I’m extremely pleased and honored to be a co-organizer of the inaugural Black Comix Arts Festival with the NorcalMLK Foundation of San Francisco! Our committee has put in a lot of work over the last few months to make this happen. Starting in January 2015, in conjunction with the city’s Martin Luther King Day celebrations, the first ever Black Comix Arts Festival will become an annual event.
This year, the first annual Black Comix Arts Festival (BCAF) is proud to become a part of NorcalMLK ’s numerous festival events! BCAF’S mission is to celebrate the creativity and subjectivity of African Americans in the comic arts and popular visual culture. There will be panels, film screenings, kids’ activities, cosplay contests, and more! The expo and its activities are free and open to the public. It’s going to be amazing!
