  1. Wow, thanks for reminding us that Ali was the first and maybe only contemporary boxer to be depicted in the comics versus Superman! And, didn’t Ali knock out the man of Steel? It’s HILARIOUS how even Batman attended that fight! LOL
    P.S.
I am surprised this fact wasn’t hyped more especially in later years when GEEKDOM reached its zenith.

REST IN PIECE AMERICA’S CONTROVERSIAL ICON, MAN OF STEEL AND SECULAR SAINT…
    MR. MUHAMMAD ALI.

  2. I hear Muhammad Ali had reportedly allowed his image to be used in that special edition with one condition: his fictional self would have to discover Superman’s secret identity. (It’s also rumored that he wrote his own dialogue).Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
    P.S.
The book was originally scheduled to be published in the fall of 1977, but was pushed back several times, first to the spring of 1978 and finally to the fall of 1978. During the delay, Ali actually lost his title of World Champion, utlimately regaining it in September 1978. The book would later be reprinted in 2010 as a hardcover. [ANYBODY GOT THE HARDCOVER VERSION OUT THERE?]
