The Black Panther Teaser Trailer Is Here

If you haven’t heard by now, the Black Panther teaser trailer has been released. And it’s pretty lit! Check out the trailer below:

The trailer was first broadcast on ABC during Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers. And follows the release earlier in the day of the film’s instantly iconic first poster:

Black Panther synopsis:

Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther’ follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king — and Black Panther — is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

Wow!! The visuals in the trailer are so breathtaking. Major props to the cinematographer, Rachel Morrison. Rachel also is the first female cinematographer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s great that Marvel is expanding the diversity in the MCU in front of and behind the camera. Director Ryan Coogler and his team have absolutely done an amazing job with Black Panther, at least based on this wonderful trailer.

Black Panther will be the first MCU film that will have a predominately black cast. Not only will this film have a majority black cast, but it will also explore African cultures, which will set this film apart from previous MCU films.

Everything about this teaser trailer was amazing. I don’t know about you, but I fangirled over seeing Shuri, Ayo, Okoye, and Nakia in the trailer as well as Ramonda. Seeing black women playing fierce warriors and also being deeply rooted to their culture is very refreshing.

Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Michael B. Jordan, Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Florence Kasumba, Andy Serkis, and Martin Freeman. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler. The script is co-written by Ryan Coogler and Joe Robert Cole.

  2. So, nothing about a First World country ” explaining” to the world what Africa really is about? How from the whole cast, just a few are really from Africa, how they speak a language from the south part of Africa and it would make no sense for a country in the north to be speaking it?

    it looks like you guys are missing a HUGE problem here, one that gets repeated way more then whitewashing, american movies, made by americans, about third world countries, their people, their culture, their problems. It’s very easy to be in the top country in the world, with all your privilege and decide to talk about something clearly you have no knowledge on.

    its seems that you fight for representation, but only care about the kind of representation that represents “you”. If it’s the rest of the world, then they should be happy to be awarded a movie that takes place in their country, about their culture.

    just the same old imperials. nothing’s changed.
