Disney’s Original Movie Spin tells the story of Indian American teenager Rhea as she navigates through school, Coding Club, her friends, her family, and working at the family restaurant. She discovers her passion of music through an aspiring DJ named Max who shows her the ropes of the turntables. She is a natural at it!
Unfortunately, her love of music, as well as her crush on Max, begins to affect her school and work life. Her father Arvind, played by Abhay Deol, who is still grieving the loss of his wife five years ago, has thrown himself in the restaurant and doesn’t notice Rhea is struggling between making her family happy and her love for music. As for Rhea’s little brother Rohan (Aryan Simhadri), he’s in his own little world of becoming the greatest food mastermind with his innovative creations.
As NOC Kid Reporter, I got to sit down virtually with the two actors to chat about how relatable their characters are, Indian food fushion, and the importance of family in the film.
