NOC Exclusive Interview: Asian American Eyz’d’s Ana Tuazon Parsons and Nicky Endres

Heyyy! It’s Kuya P back again with another NOC EXCLUSIVE! I recently sat down for a conversation with Actor/Comedians’ Ana Tuazon Parsons & Nicky Endres to discuss Asian American Eyz’d (An Immigrant Comedy Special)!

Set in a pre-pandemic Los Angeles 2020, three Asian-American immigrant comics come together for a one-night comedy special. They share their stories and struggles with identity, sexuality, and survival in modern-day America. It’s “Baby Cobra” meets “Nanette”.

Ana Tuazon Parsons

BIO: Born in Ologapo, Philippines, Ana Tuazon Parsons graduated from the acclaimed Circle In The Square Musical Theatre Conservatory Program. She’s worked with (former Artistic Director Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s) Labyrinth Theatre Company at The Public, produced Off Off Broadway Genet’s The Maids at Center Stage, and numerous theatres around the country performing both contemporary and classical work. Ana was most recently seen in the international tour of Sherlock Holmes with David Arquette. As a stand up comedian and writer, Ana has been a Main Stage regular and performer on stages including The Comedy Store Los Angeles and Gotham Comedy New York. She co-wrote and performed in Jeremy Lin, The Musical: The Unauthorized Journey To Linsanity in 2012, which ran in Los Angeles and San Francisco to sold out houses with overwhelming response. The proceeds from the shows were donated to Love Never Fails World Charity, benefitting woman who have been affected by human trafficking.

As an activist, Ana is a passionate advocate of women, children, and immigrant rights. When not writing or acting, she devotes her time to volunteering and ran the non – profit sect of BGB Studios Outreach Program in 2019. In 2020 wrote, produced, and starred in a three comic immigrant special, Asian American – Eyz’d: telling their lives as immigrants in modern America. Her semi – autobiographical pilot, The Asian That Didn’t, has been a finalist for Sundance Episodic Lab and Showtimes Tony Cox Award. Married her Tinder date from 2017 – it works!

Nicky Endres

BIO: Mx. Nicky Endres has long defied convention. A non-binary transfeminine, genderqueer martial artist and comic, they* have always challenged cultural categories to forge their own way.

As evidenced by their German surname, Nicky is a convergence of contraries: East and West, masculine and feminine, laughter and lethality. With a specialty for gender transformation, they are cast as much for their androgynous look as for their versatility; they are adept in both comedy and drama as well as in characters across the Trans and gender-fluid spectrum. They may even play masculine-identified characters — provided they don’t have to cut their hair.

Nicky has enjoyed a wide variety of roles in theatre, film, and television, including NCIS: Los Angeles, Pushing Daisies, Don’t Trust the B in Apt. 23, Sullivan & Son; they are recurring on One Day at a Time (Season 3 on Netflix/ Season 4 on PopTV).

Nicky grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and majored in English and Theatre at Lawrence University. They enjoy martial arts, stand-up comedy, and graphic design. They are passionate about building bridges with LGBTQ Allies, advocating for sex-positivity & consent, and are deeply devoted to Xena: Warrior Princess.

Nicky is represented by Aperture Talent Agency and Pink Hammer Entertainment Talent Management.
