Netflix’s anticipated action film Gunpowder Milkshake dropped their trailer early this morning and our jaws just dropped.
In what looks to be a John Wick-style assassin film, directed by Israeli filmmaker Navot Papushado (Rabies, Big Bad Wolves), Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy, Jumanji) stars as a lethal hit-woman named Sam who reunites with her mother Scarlet (Lena Headey) 15 years after she abandoned her child in order to protect her from a ruthless crime organization known as The Firm.
According to the synopsis and what we see in the trailer, “when a high-risk job goes wrong, Sam must choose between serving The Firm and protecting the life of an innocent 8-year-old girl — Emily (Chloe Coleman). With a target on her back, Sam has only one chance to survive: reunite with her mother and her lethal associates The Librarians,” played by Angela Bassett, Michelle Yeoh, and Carla Gugino.
Can we just say WHAT AN AMAZING ENSEMBLE OF ICONIC WOMEN IN THIS FILM!
The action looks great, especially seeing the Angela Basset-Michelle Yeoh team up we’ve been waiting YEARS for. We cannot wait for this film.
There’s also a lot of heart in the film with mother and daughter reuniting to fight bad guys. It adds a little humor into the story.
Honestly, can we have this movie now?
