Ever wonder about how the top-secret British intelligence organization known as Kingsman came to be? This December, wonder no longer! Long before the days of Harry, Eggsy, and Merlin, the world was plagued by the worst evil masterminds and tyrants. And in that chaos, an agency rose to the occasion to stop them all! This is the story of The King’s Man!

Earlier today, 20th Century Studios debuted the latest look at the long-delayed prequel to the blockbuster spy-franchise celebrating its legacy so far. Take a look at the new footage here:

Per 20th Century Studios, “The King’s Man” is directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, with Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance.

I don’t know about you guys, but I think it looks bloody spectacular. I admittedly wasn’t the biggest fan of the previous installment Kingsman: The Golden Circle, thinking that it went a bit too over-the-top for my taste. But there’s something about the grounded “1917 meets Kingsman” nature of The King’s Man that makes me think it’ll have the precise amount of fire needed to reignite this franchise the way a film like X-Men: First Class (another Vaughn classic) reinvigorated that film series.

The King’s Man debuts in theaters December 22, 2021
