New Featurette for ‘Black Widow’ Reveals Connections to the MCU

This is it folks! This week, we’ll all finally get to see Black Widow! And in anticipation of the release of the film, Marvel Studios has released a new featurette for the film, featuring Kevin Feige and Scarlett Johansson talking about the film’s connections to the larger MCU.

I gotta be honest as someone who has seen the film along with our amazing editor Laura Sirikul (whose review you can find here), this is an awesome movie, but I have to admit I disagree with the assessments given in the above featurette. While it’s a really fun, well crafted, fantastic movie with the best action we’ve seen in the MCU since Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it is essentially a stand-alone one, and tells a story that isn’t trying to set up that much about the MCU’s future (just my opinion).

However, given that I don’t want to give anything away, I’ll just say, you’ll see what I mean when you see it. But it’s debatable about whether or not everything they’re saying in the featurette is true.

That being said, as this is a larger universe, expect some setup. That’s all I’ll say. Let us know what you think when you all see it!

Black Widow FINALLY hits theaters and Disney+ with Premier Access, this Friday, July 9!
