Sera Gamble serves as showrunner and executive producer of Netflix’s hit thriller series, YOU. The series is based on Caroline Kepnes’ best-selling novel of the same name. The highly anticipated third season will be a total of 10 episodes and begin streaming on October 15.
In Season 3, Joe and Love, now married and raising their baby, have moved to the balmy Northern California enclave of Madre Linda, where they’re surrounded by privileged tech entrepreneurs, judgmental mommy bloggers, and Insta-famous biohackers. Joe is committed to his new role as a husband and dad but fears Love’s lethal impulsiveness. And then there’s his heart. Could the woman he’s been searching for all this time live right next door? Breaking out of a cage in a basement is one thing. But the prison of a picture-perfect marriage to a woman who’s wise to your tricks? Well, that’ll prove a much more complicated escape.
Gamble was first a screenwriter finalist on the second season of HBO’s Project Greenlight. She then went on to write and produce the hit series Supernatural for its first seven seasons on The CW, becoming an executive producer in the fifth season. She also served as a staff writer on ABC’s Eyes as well as a writer and executive producer for The Magicians on Syfy. Most recently, Gamble served as a writer and executive producer for Aquarius on NBC.
Gamble and I discussed what fans can expect from season three, seeing the show evolve from season one, a possible season four, what inspiration she looks for from the book series, and more!
