NOC Interview: Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell Discuss ’The Hating Game’

Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell star in The Hating Game, which is based on the bestselling novel by Sally Thorne. The film will be released in select theaters and on demand December 10. The duo also previously starred together in Fantasy Island.

Based on the best-selling book, THE HATING GAME tells the story of ambitious good girl Lucy Hutton and her cold, efficient work nemesis, Joshua Templeton. Committed to achieving professional success without compromising her ethics, Lucy ultimately embarks on a ruthless game of one-upmanship against Josh, a rivalry that is increasingly complicated by her mounting attraction to him.

Hale is best known for her role as Aria Montgomery in Pretty Little Liars, which had a total of seven seasons. Currently, the actress can be seen in the new series, Ragdoll. Other notable television credits include Life Sentence, Katy Keene, How I Met Your Mother, Bionic Woman, and Privileged. Her film work includes Truth or Dare, Scream 4, The Unicorn, Dude, A Nice Girl Like You, Son of the South, as well as The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Upcoming, she will star in Borrego.

Stowell’s notable film roles include Dolphin Tale, Dolphin Tale 2, Bridge of Spies, Colossal, Stratton, 12 Strong, Swallow, Higher Power, Love and Honor, Whiplash, Warren, Battle of the Sexes, and In Dubious Battle. On television, the actor can be seen in Catch-22, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and Public Morals. Upcoming, he has been cast in Three Women and Breathe.
