Michelle Yeoh Leads Cast of Netflix’s ‘The Brothers Sun’

The new Netflix drama series by Brad Falchuk’s company Falchuk Teley-Vision, The Brothers Sun, has been greenlit for production. Set in Los Angeles and Taiwan, the eight-episode series features an all-Asian writers room and all-Asian cast — and stars Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All At Once).

The Brothers Sun tells the story of Taipei gangster, Charles Sun (Justin Chien), who’s settled into his life as a ruthless killer. But when his father is shot by a mysterious assassin, Charles must go to Los Angeles to protect his mother (Michelle Yeoh) and younger brother Bruce, who is unaware of his brother and father’s gangster world. Yeoh plays Eileen Sun aka Mama Sun who left her past in Taiwan for a whole new life for herself and youngest son Bruce (Sam Song Li). Charles, who stayed with his crime boss father, finds himself town between the life he’s been raised in and the life he could make for himself.

Joining the cast are Highdee Kuan, who plays Alexis, an assistant DA; Joon Lee as Bruce’s best friend TK; and, Alice Hewkin, Jon Xue Zhang, Jenny Yang, “Xing” Madison Hu, and Rodney To.

Falchuk and Byron Wu serve as showrunners, co-creators, and executive producers. Mikkel Bondesen and Kevin Tancharoen, who will also direct, serve as executive producers as well.
