Taking place within the existing Pretty Little Liars universe, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin will introduce audiences to a new generation of Liars. I spoke with stars Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Maia Reficco, Malia Pyles, Zaria, and Mallory Bechtel all about the new Max Original series, which will debut with three episodes on Thursday, July 28.
Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in the present day, a group of disparate teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago…as well as their own. In the dark, coming-of-age, horror-tinged drama PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN, we find ourselves miles away from Rosewood, but within the existing Pretty Little Liars universe — in a brand-new town, with a new generation of Little Liars.
Bailee Madison stars as Imogen Adams. The actress is best known for Good Witch, A Week Away, The Strangers: Prey at Night, The Fosters, Once Upon a Time, and Bridge to Terabithia.
Chandler Kinney portrays Tabby Haworthe. She can most recently be seen in Zombies 3. Other notable work includes Zombies 2 and Lethal Weapon.
Maia Reficco plays Noa Olivar. Upcoming, she will be in the dark comedy, Do Revenge. The actress can be recognized for her role as Kally in Nickelodeon’s Kally’s Mashup in Latin America.
Malia Pyles takes on the role of Mouse Honrada. Her additional television credits include Baskets, How to Get Away with Murder, and Batwoman.
Zaria is Faran Bryant. She has appeared in Two Distant Strangers, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, black-ish, and Bosch: Legacy as well.
Mallory Bechtel brings to life both Karen and Kelly Beasley. On Broadway, she performed in Dear Evan Hansen. Her film roles include Know Fear and Hereditary.
Two new episodes will follow the show’s premiere on August 4 and August 11.
The final three episodes will then be released August 18 on HBO Max.
I had a truly amazing time chatting with the cast about how the original PLL personally impacted each of them, what they want their characters to represent, and their favorite relationships!
