Idina Menzel reprises her role as Nancy Tremaine in Disenchanted, which is the sequel to Disney’s Enchanted. The live-action musical comedy premieres on November 18, only on Disney+. You can also stream her new song, “Love Power,” from the film now.

It has been more than 10 years since Giselle (Amy Adams) and Robert (Patrick Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.

Menzel rose to fame for her role as Maureen in the popular Broadway musical Rent and won a Tony Award for her performance as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in Wicked. Her voice can be recognized as Elsa in Disney’s Frozen and Frozen 2. The first film’s song, “Let It Go,” sung by Menzel, became an instant international phenomenon, winning the Oscar for Best Original Song and the GRAMMY Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. The track reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first artist with both a Billboard Top 10 hit and a Tony Award for acting.

Her film credits include Cinderella, Uncut Gems, Rent, and Ask the Dust. On television, the actress appeared in Glee and Beaches. She returned to her starring role as Jodi in the West Coast premiere of Joshua Harmon’s Skintight in September 2019. The artist’s recording career includes multiple cast and solo albums, such as Still I Can’t Be Still, Here, I Stand, idina, and Christmas: A Season of Love, which is her second holiday album, following Holiday Wishes. Her first debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Holiday Albums chart and gave the singer a Top 10 album on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. In March 2012, Menzel released a CD and DVD titled, Idina Menzel Live: Barefoot at the Symphony, a live concert with an orchestra, filmed at The Royal Conservatory’s Koerner Hall in Toronto, Canada.

Upcoming, audiences will be able to follow the singer on a national tour over the course of 16 shows in her documentary, Idina Menzel: Which Way to the Stage?, which premieres December 9 on Disney+.
