Jennifer Coolidge is having a banner year, and it’s only January! Not only did she just win a Golden Globe for her work on The White Lotus, she is also currently starring, alongside Steve Coulter, in Shotgun Wedding, which is now streaming on Prime Video. I had the opportunity to speak with the duo about their favorite elements of the film and genre!
In Shotgun Wedding, Darcy and Tom gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begin to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage. “’Til Death Do Us Part” takes on a whole new meaning in this hilarious, adrenaline-fueled adventure as Darcy and Tom must save their loved ones — if they don’t kill each other first.
“I like that mix of genuine excitement and then the lighthearted romantic comedy,” Coulter expressed.
“It is the sharp contrast,” Coolidge told me. “It has to have the two hot people that have sort of a thing, and if you add funny to it, and then you add high stakes of a catastrophe of being invaded.”
