‘The Boogeyman’ Trailer Unveils the Monster Hiding in the Closet

Buckle up, horror fans. The official trailer for 20th Century Studios’ and 21 Laps’ upcoming film The Boogeyman is here, and there’s a lot to get spooked about.

The Boogeyman is based on the short story by Stephen King. The official description, courtesy of 20th Century, reads: “High school student Sadie Harper (Sophie Thatcher) and her younger sister Sawyer (Vivien Lyra Blair) are reeling from the recent death of their mother and aren’t getting much support from their father, Will (Chris Messina), a therapist who is dealing with his own pain. When a desperate patient unexpectedly shows up at their home seeking help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims.”

David Dastmalchian, Marin Ireland, LisaGay Hamilton, and Madison Hu also star.

The film was directed by Rob Savage (Host) and written by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place) alongside Mark Heyman (Black Swan). It was produced by Shawn Levy (Stranger Things), Dan Levine (Arrival), and Dan Cohen (The Adam Project). Emily Morris, John H. Starke, Scott Beck, Bryan Woods, Adam Kolbrenner, Ryan Cunningham, and Robin Meisinger served as executive producers.
