Spider-Man! Spider-Man! Does whatever a spider can! We’re so used to this applying to an iconic superhero. But what if radiation poisoning combined with arachnid DNA actually resulted in something terrifying? That’s the basis behind Andy Chen’s short film — a horror take on Spider-Man — called The Spider.
To bring his creative horrific vision to life, Chen enlisted the help of a major horror star — Chandler Riggs, who many know from The Walking Dead. Riggs plays a very different version of Peter Parker. And the short itself is a very interesting interpretation of the origins of one of the most iconic superheroes ever.
The short is absolutely terrifying and grotesque. And we had to get the scoop on how Chen came up with the idea and how Riggs came into the project. Fortunately, we were able to sit down with the duo to discuss both, which you can see here:
