Something has changed within him. Something is not the same. It’s because Crazy Rich Asians director, Jon M. Chu has now officially fulfilled his dream of bringing his passion project to life — Wicked!

As our editors Keith and Laura have signaled, audiences are about to discover the magic of Wicked! The blockbuster Broadway musical is coming to life on the big screen this Thanksgiving. And in addition to the astounding trailer that was released on Super Bowl Sunday, Universal and Chu have released a personal and emotional featurette documenting what it meant for him, and stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, to bring the beloved musical to cinemas!

Take a look at the featurette right here:

Chu’s contributions to movie musicals already showcases he’s the right director for the job, with his 2021 adaptation of In The Heights being one of the best show-to-film adaptations to come out in recent years. And with the powerful vocals of both Erivo and Grande, I can’t see this movie being anything less than stellar! However, as fans know, there’s a lot going on in this film. So we’ll be getting two parts!

The first chapter of Wicked officially hits theaters November 26!

Stay tuned to The Nerds of Color for more news regarding Wicked, including the brand new trailer, expected to debut this coming Wednesday, May 15!
