With Inside Out 2 now in theaters (check out our reviews on the highly anticipated sequel), the Disneyland Resort is inviting guests to celebrate the sequel’s release with new experiences at the parks and Pixar Place Hotel, collectible merchandise, and delicious eats. And the timing couldn’t be any better as the Disneyland Resort is also celebrating Pixar Fest until August 4, 2024.
In Pixar Animation Studios’ Inside Out 2, audiences return to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as Headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions. Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Tony Hale), and Disgust (Liza Lapria), who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos), and Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser) show up.
Over at the Disney California Adventure Park, the World of Color — One highlights Inside Out 2 with an all new pre-show short called “Emotional Rollercoaster.” The short features animated projections, majestic fountains synchronized to music, dazzling lasers and sparkling lighting are brought together to introduce the new Emotions — Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment and Ennui and show how they must learn to live peacefully with the existing core Emotions.
Guests interested in character interactions may want to reserve some time to meet Anger, who is making his debut at Pixar Pier Band Shell. While the debut is limited to Disney California Adventure Park, the hot-headed red brick-shaped emotion will make his way to select international Disney Parks.
There’s a drawing activity at Animation Academy, where guests can learn to draw four characters from the film: Joy, Sadness, Anxiety, and Anger under the guidance of a talented artist.
Inside Out 2‘s release also coincides with the current Pixar Fest, a celebration of all things Pixar that’s happening at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. For a limited time during Pixar Fest, now through August 4, 2024, an Inside Out 2 collectible medallion will be available at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff Medallion Machine in Disney California Adventure Park.
Guests who purchase Disney Genie+ service can access a new experience from Disney PhotoPass Lenses featuring characters from Inside Out 2 on the Disneyland app. With this lens, guests can get a glimpse inside the Headquarters control center and express their emotions with Joy, Anger, and Sadness.
There will also be an art gallery at the Pixar Place Hotel at Disneyland Resort.
Over at Walt Disney World Resort, guests can meet Joy at the Pixar Plaza in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. So don’t forget to smile when Disney PhotoPass Photographers take your picture.
Food and Beverages like the Anxiety Straw Clip are available starting today at the Disneyland Resort. If guests are in the mood for something a little sweeter, then they might want to try to Sadness Cheesecake, a cotton candy cheesecake with blue mousse and blue memory orbs. The cheesecake is available now through June 29 at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta at Disney California Adventure Park . If guests want something a little more joyful though, then they might want to consider the Joyful Cheesecake – Yellow pineapple cheesecake with white and blue mousse. The cheesecake is available June 30 through August 18 at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta at Disney California Adventure Park.
At Walt Disney World Resort, the Inside Out 2 cake features layers of vanilla chiffon, peanut butter mousse, and strawberry jam with crushed peanuts and crispy pearls.
Guests can find the Feeling Kinda Blue-berry Chai Iced Latte, a Blueberry chai iced latte with notes of clove, cinnamon, and orange blossom, over at Market (Outdoor cart), Neighborhood Bakery, and Catalina Eddie’s at Disney’s Hollywood Studios from now until July 26. It’s also available at Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs from now until July 14.
Epic Eats at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is serving the Frazzled Float, a Minute Maid Passion Fruit Orange Guava Juice, Sprite, vanilla soft-serve, and chocolate sauce topped with candied orange and chocolate bark. The float is available until September 6.
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has “Inside Out 2”-themed Dessert Lollipops in different flavors representing Embarrassment (Pepper Strawberry), Ennui (Rosemary Blueberry), Envy (Basil Lemon), and Anxiety (Thyme Orange). For something a little more savory, there’s the Grilled Chicken Croffle, a BBQ chicken grilled croffle with caramelized onion and cheese sauce. There’s also collectable cups and popcorn scoops. The latter has different flavors for each of the characters, with Embarrassment representing Garlic, Disgust tasting like Wasabi, and Anxiety brings heat with a Hot Jalapeno flavor. If you buy the souvenir cup, it comes with Agar Jelly Lychee Soda.
Disneyland Paris has themed doughnuts and popcorn buckets.
