In 2022, the world witnessed the masterpiece that was The Batman. And in the wake of the events of Matt Reeves’ brilliant Elseworlds movie, a scene stealer was born in the form of Colin Farrell’s Oswald Cobb, aka The Penguin! Well now Cobb (and Farrell) are back to navigate through the dark underbelly of Gotham’s underworld in the new Max series, The Penguin!

The Penguin will be picking up after the events of The Batman. Gotham is in ruins thanks to the events of The Riddler; flooded, isolated, and crime-ridden. And with the death of Carmine Falcone (portrayed in The Batman by John Turturro), the crown of the Falcone Crime Syndicate is up for grabs. Now is the time for Cobb to strike and seize control of the coveted crime empire.

Farrell reprises his acclaimed role from the film but brings with him a host of talented performers, including Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Rhenzy Feliz as Victor Aguilar, Michael Kelly as Johnny Viti, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Nadia Maroni, Deirdre O’Connell as Francis Cobb, Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, James Madio as Milos Grapa, Scott Cohen as Luca Falcone, Michael Zegen as Alberto Falcone), Carmen Ejogo as Eve Karlo, and Theo Rossi as Dr. Julian Rush.

With the debut of the trailer also comes a new poster for the upcoming limited series. Check it out here:

Farrell was so good in the film, bringing with him so much charisma, gravitas, and humor. It’ll be amazing to see him finally get the full spotlight now, as well as see the world of Reeves’ vision of Gotham expand!
