Kevin Bacon portrays Cade Grant in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. The new movie is finally streaming on Netflix and it’s a can’t-miss for any Beverly Hills Cop fan.
Detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) is back on the beat in Beverly Hills. After his daughter’s life is threatened, she (Taylour Paige) and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.
“What I think is the most interesting [in terms of a villain] is if — it depends on the film really, I mean it really depends on how the story is being told. But what can sometimes be interesting is if you don’t really get a sense of it and then once you find out, it all sort of starts coming back to you,” the actor shared. “In the case of Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, I think it’s pretty safe to say that you see me and you see how I am, and you know that I’m probably not the greatest guy in the world. I mean, given just the structure of those films, and given my look and how I’m playing him, I think it’s pretty clear that he’s an asshole.”
We discussed which type of villain he finds most interesting, how he approached joining such a beloved franchise, and more.
