The popular fantasy-romance web novel Under the Oak Tree finally adds a new side story for fans: The White Dragon. Written by Kim Suji, the new web novel premieres on July 25 and gives a fresh perspective on the world of Under the Oak Tree, Manta’s most popular webcomic. The completed three-volume side story will be available exclusively on Manta.
Under the Oak Tree: The White Dragon centers on the humble beginnings of Ursuline Ricaydo, a knight of the Remdragon Knights and a subordinate of the original series lead, Riftan Calypse. Told through his point of view, we learn that Ursuline was merely seventeen years old when his ruthless half-brother arrived in the capital, demanding Ursuline become his squire. After a chance encounter with Riftan, Ursuline learns the true meaning of chivalry and must choose between his family and his own aspirations.
Fans can look forward to visiting this world and its characters since the main story concluded in April. In addition to the web novel, fans can look forward to more print adaptations of the original Under the Oak Tree, set to release this fall. Released by Penguin Random House’s Inklore, which is set to release in September, and a novel adaptation in November.
