Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park may have already started their Halloween festivities, but the Disneyland Resort is already planning celebrations for the merriest season of all.
Starting November 15, guests can experience holiday magic, jolly overlays, Mickey and Friends wearing their holiday best, and the debut of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland Park.
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and some of their friends will also debut new holiday looks at Disneyland Park and over at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Storytellers Cafe will offer an all-new winter-inspired breakfast and brunch. Guests can also participate in the all-new Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail pursuit allows guests to search for decorative ornaments hidden throughout Downtown Disney District.
Since we are on the subject of sweet and savory eats, dozens of limited-time, holiday-themed food and beverages throughout Disneyland Resort, including at Disney Festival of Holidays.
Some of the returning holiday overlay favorites include “it’s a small world” Holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday — the latter features a 5’x6’ gingerbread house that took over 150 hours to build and program the animation. The Dr. Finkelstein with the help of the Disney Culinary team used 60 Pounds of Gingerbread, 50 Pounds of Powdered Sugar, 10 Pounds of Egg Whites, 30 Pounds of Rolled Fondant, 5 Pounds of Crystal Sugar, and 10 Pounds of Chocolate.
Mickey and Friends will also wear their best wintery holiday attire, and be joined by the likes of Mirabel from Encanto or Miguel from Coco in festive street performances that celebrate the holidays and the gift of familia at Disney California Adventure Park. Over at Disneyland Resort, guests can find Holiday Toy Drummers drumming seasonal cheer for all to hear.
This year’s events are to be more inclusive than ever as there will be captivating performances from a varying lineup of diverse cultural performance groups.
Disney Festival of Holidays marks the return of Festive Foods Marketplace at Disney California Adventure Park. Guests are invited to enjoy an assortment of culturally diverse food and drink kiosks scattered throughout the park. They can get the most holiday cheer out of the Disney Festival of Holidays with the Sip and Savor Pass.
For guests who aren’t planning to play in either of the parks, they are more than welcomed to have fun at Downtown Disney District. There, they can participate in the Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail, a festive pursuit that allows guests to search for decorative ornaments hidden throughout the Downtown Disney District.
Of course, it wouldn’t be much of the holidays without guests being able to take photos with Santa Claus himself at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure Park and Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland Park. Guests staying at the hotel will also be able to take photos with him at Pixar Place Hotel – in the main lobby; Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa – in the Great Hall; and the Disneyland Hotel – in the main lobby. Guests can make more merry memories this year, especially with the debut of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on November 15. Travel the bayou and meet Tiana and her friends while also encountering daring plunges and experiencing fantastical storytelling. This one-of-a-kind celebration during the Mardi Gras season will have an unexpected ending that will surely bring a smile to fans of the film and the ride.
The Hallow-days at the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay at Haunted Mansion continue from its Halloween Time. Jack Skellington and friends are joining the grim grinning ghosts to bring some holiday fun to the 999 haunts.
Ring in the new season with A Christmas Fantasy Parade, a Disneyland Park tradition that sees beloved Disney Characters join Santa Claus for a merry musical celebration, heading your way down Main Street, U.S.A. Christmas favorites like prancing reindeer, marching toy soldiers, dancing gingerbread cookies and more join Mickey and Minnie work with Chip ‘n’ Dale, while Anna, Elsa, and Olaf bid you a warm winter welcome from their fantastic Frozen realm, and Buzz Lightyear rides in a spaceship atop a float with elves, Woody and Jessie. The Disney Princesses join in with a dance at the Candlelight Ball. And finally, ave hello to Santa Claus himself. Arrive early to find the best-possible viewing spot — especially if you plan to see the show along Main Street, U.S.A. There are also excellent viewing spots near “it’s a small world” Holiday and Matterhorn Bobsleds.
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort also brings new enhancements like the Wintertime Enchantment at Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle. Sleeping Beauty Castle is decked out in icicles, wreaths and festive décor. Each evening, gather to see the iconic edifice shimmer to life. And the castle becomes even more magical with “Believe… In Holiday Magic” Fireworks Spectacular. The evening sky overhead lights up with dazzling color while ore than 80,000 twinkling lights illuminate Sleeping Beauty Castle with sparkling “icicles” and shimmering snow-capped turrets. And to cap it off, experience a magical “snowfall” around you at “it’s a small world” Holiday, in parts of Main Street, U.S.A. and along the Rivers of America! “Believe… In Holiday Magic” is subject to cancellation without notice due to weather or other circumstances. Disney California Adventure Park has their own nighttime spectacular. Celebrate the season with World of Color — Season of Light. Beloved moments from Disney and Pixar classics like Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp, Beauty and the Beast and Fantasia with contemporary hits like Frozen and Inside Out, illuminate towering walls of mist. Goofy’s madcap musical lights adds more jubilation to a nighttime spectacular that is sure to be joyous from its celebartory beginning to its breathtaking finale.
Finally, Guests can experience the holidays through the world of Pixar‘s Cars, where Cars Land glitters and glows with festive lights and sounds. Luigi and his extended family of roadsters are celebrating the season in style with festive dances to tunes crooned by Luigi himself at Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl, while Mater’s Jingle Jamboree brings a haul-iday festive hoedown.
