Jac Schaeffer serves as the head writer and an executive producer of Marvel Television’s Agatha All Along. Additionally, she directed three episodes of the series, which premieres with the first two episodes on September 18 at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET, exclusively on Disney+.

In “Agatha All Along,” the infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road…

“I would say my favorite part in the opportunity to do a show about Agatha is the fact that she is not ambivalent about power. This is a lady who wants power and it was really my first time working with a character like that,” Schaeffer shared. “I have had the good fortune of writing for Natasha, Carol Danvers, and Wanda, and each of these women have a very different relationship to their power but none of them are power hungry and none of them are sort of unapologetically formidable and that’s what Agatha is.”

We talked about her favorite part of putting Agatha front and center, which character dynamics she was most excited to explore, leaning into the mystery of Teen, and more.
