Director Bong is back! One of the greatest filmmakers of this generation, the visionary Bong Joon Ho is following up his historic Oscar-winning Parasite with an adaptation of Edward Ashton’s Mickey 17! And we just got a trailer for it right now!
Since his directorial debut 24 years ago, with Barking Dogs Never Bite, Bong has been one of the most talented filmmakers in history, with amazing genre films like The Host and Snowpiercer, to brilliant drama like Mother and, of course, Parasite.
Returning to the world of genre, he’s putting pen to paper and adapting the sci-fi novel by Ashton, which centers on a “disposable employee” — called an “expendable,” which can die and be replaced by a new body with the same memories — who has been tasked with colonizing the frosty ice world of Niflheim. The adaptation features an all-star cast including Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo!
