Disneyland Resort Celebrates Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month

Disneyland Resorts may be celebrating Halloween Time on both coasts, but they are also making room to honor Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month with delicious food, uplifting music, exciting entertainment and more.

New character meet in greets this year include appearances by Isabela and Luisa Madrigal from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ film Encanto. The two will join their youngest sister Mirabel Madrigal outside of Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante in Frontierland at Disneyland Park.

Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., celebrates Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month with delicious food, uplifting music, exciting entertainment and more. Upon entering Disneyland Resort guests will be welcomed to a redesigned Emporium window on Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland Park and the Downtown Disney District mural titled, “Love and Traditions.” The murals helps celebrate Día de los Muertos in Hispanic and Latin American countries. 

Over at Disney California Adventure park, guests can watch Miguel bring the everlasting bonds of familia to life with songs and dancing in the newly reimagined musical tribute, “The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate The Musical World of Coco!” The celebration also coincides with the park’s Dia de los Muertos event, which runs until November 2, 2024.

The Disneyland Resort’s culinary teams have also been creating delicious dishes drawing from the flavors of Hispanic and Latin American cultures. Guests can enjoy filling sandwiches like the Torta Cubana at Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante at Disneyland Park or take a bite out of the sweet and savory Guava and Cheese Mille-Feuille at Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs. You can even bring home the Coco Floral Skull Sipper from Disneyland Resort.  

In addition to specialty items available throughout the resort, Latina-owned food truck Vchos will offer tasty traditional Salvadoran pupusas near the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage through October 15. And on weekends, guests can enjoy live musical performances at the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage, with the lineup featuring DJs, a mariachi quartet, the Pacifico Dance Company and Son Habana.
