Ahead of its New York Comic Con panel, Sony has released the title and poster of the anticipated Karate Kid film, starring the franchise’s living legends: Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and Jackie Chan as Mr. Han. The title of the new movie is Karate Kid: Legends.

The poster reveals the new karate kid on the block, Li Fong, played by Ben Wang (American Born Chinese).

Macchio debuted as the first Karate Kid in 1984 and has continued the role through two sequels and on Netflix’s Cobra Kai alongside Karate Kid veteran William Zabka, who plays Johnny Lawrence. Chan returns as Kung Fu master Mr. Han from the 2010 Karate Kid reboot, which starred Jaden Smith in the lead role.

Though details have not been revealed yet, the Cobra Kai Universe will not be associated with the film, as stated by Cobra Kai co-creator Jon Hurwitz. We can expect more answers after the NYCC panel.

Karate Kid: Legends is directed by Jonathan Entwistle. Shaunette Renée Wilson and Joshua Jackson are set to appear in the film as well.

Karate Kid: Legends is to release on May 30, 2025 in theaters everywhere.
