“The Rider” is coming. That probably sounds more ominous than it should. But it’s the epic title for artist Paris Paloma’s new single for The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. And today, we got our very first sample of the exciting new song.
The Lord of the Rings franchise has always had a history of fantastic singles, dating back to the Oscar Nominated “May it Be” from Fellowship of the Rings. In the grand tradition Paloma’s “The Rider” features a beautiful melody, with spiritual flourishes that perfectly encapsulate the epic feel of J. R. R. Tolkien’s works.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim is hitting theaters December 13. It’s being helmed by acclaimed anime director Kenji Kamiyama, and features the voice talents of Brian Cox, Gaia Wise, and Miranda Otto. Stay tuned to The Nerds of Color for more coverage soon!
