The Man of Steel is coming in for a landing this week! We could not be more excited to receive the news this morning that the trailer for James Gunn’s Superman will be flying faster than a speeding bullet on Thursday.
To celebrate, Warner Bros. has also released some amazing new key art for the highly anticipated DCU reboot.
The world could not be more ready for Superman. After the year we have had, we can use a true hero. — and an immigrant, no less. So being able to see the key art for this film, and knowing that the first ever trailer for this movie will be debuting Thursday gives us a sense of hope and serves as a reminder that America was once an open melting pot of welcoming individuals, and one built on the backs of hard working immigrants who earned the right to be in the country by loving it and serving it almost more than the hypocrites telling them to leave. If only real life were more like the comics, right folks?
Anyway, check out the key art for Superman right here, courtesy of Gunn. If you unmute the audio, you may hear what seem to be the first strands of John Murphy’s new Superman score, too.
The new film will be the first official major project for Gunn’s vision of the DC Universe, and the first narrative feature under the new DC Studios banner. It will be the starting point of the official soft reboot for the franchise, after the disastrous trainwreck that was the DCEU. Given that Gunn actually understands these heroes and reads comics that aren’t just the most well known Frank Miller stories that posers cite, I think we’re in for something, well, super!
Stay tuned to The Nerds of Color for more coverage on Superman coming much sooner than you think!
Superman hits theaters July 11, 2025!
