This weekend, The Last of Us took SXSW by storm, as Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey visited the annual festival to unveil the latest trailer for the upcoming second season on Max. The explosive trailer, which shortly debuted online after, showcased a ton of scenes that will appear incredibly familiar to those who have played The Last of Us Part II. As such, get ready to feel your heart break folks!
Brace yourselves everyone! Fans of the games will know the events they’re in store for in this upcoming season, and any and all of the potentially dark tragedies that await our heroes. But don’t take my word for it. Check out the trailer here:
Credit where credit is due, Naughty Dog has stuck to its guns in creating dynamic characters of all sorts of backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and sexualities in their compelling stories. Because at the end of the day these differences in characters, internal and external, are what essentially drive the narratives of these compelling stories. In the case of The Last of Us Season 2, that story is one about grief, and the corrosiveness of hatred, violence, and retribution. In other words, all those who complained about The Last of Us Part II will do well to pay attention to what the story being adapted into this season has to say.
Joining the cast this season are some terrific actors such as Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Jeffrey Wright, Danny Ramirez, Young Mazino, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, and Catherine O’Hara. This season, set years after the end of the first, follows the aftermath of Joel’s decisions in the season one finale. As secrets long buried come to the surface, relationships are tested, blood is shed, and danger looms just over the frigid snow-capped mountains.
The Last of Us Season 2 hits Max on April 13th!
