Star Wars: Rebels is the first production of the Star Wars franchise to come out of Lucasfilm, following its acquisition by Disney. Set five years before the events of the original trilogy, it follows a small team of rebels in their fight against the Galactic Empire. It ran for four seasons from 2014-2018.

Over a decade after its premiere, the beloved animated series is getting the re-watch treatment in the form of a podcast from iHeart Media, Pod of Rebellion. Hosted by original cast members Vanessa Marshall (Hera Syndulla), Tiya Sircar (Sabine Wren), and Taylor Gray (Ezra Bridger), moderated by actor Jon Lee Brody, with J.C. Reifenberg as the resident fact checker, each week, they talk in depth about each episode not just for its plot, but also for what went into the making of it, as well as details they pick up on along the way.

In a group discussion with The Nerds of Color, they talk about how actor Dante Basco inspired them to do a podcast, why they decided on the format that they use for their episodes, and on finding resonating themes and details in both the story and the animation that take on meaning all these years later.

Pod of Rebellion can be listened to on iHeart, as well as wherever else podcasts are available.
