LaNisa Renee Frederick stars in the new season of Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat on Prime Video. We had the chance to speak with her about how this role came to life and what audiences can take away from her journey and experiences as an artist.
Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat is heavy on the hilarity this season. Unsuspecting temp new-hire Anthony Norman is thrown into a workplace retreat filled with quirky coworkers and an eccentric boss. While speaking with LaNisa Renee Frederick about her series regular role as Jackie (a tired mom of three), she explained that while this show can feel like a fun spin on a mockumentary-style series, it actually requires numerous skillsets and talent from its actors. Frederick approached her character with a solid foundation of theater experience, which she credits as playing a big part in being able to work well with an ensemble cast.
From numerous voiceover and acting credits, to her hit podcast Black and CULTivated, Frederick has more than showcased that her star power is taking off. We had the opportunity to speak more in-depth about what has shaped her career so far and the different projects that she has coming up. You can watch our full conversation below:
