We finally got some photos of Sandra Oh as Professor Ji-Yoon Kim in the upcoming Netflix comedy The Chair.
Created by Amanda Peet, Oh plays a the new Chair of the English department at the prestigious Pembroke University. As the first woman to chair the department, Ji-Yoon is faced with a unique set of challenges as well as being one of the few staff members of color at the university.
The images also show Oh possibly married to Jay Duplass’ character Bill Dobson, a fellow professor, and share a daughter, ‘Ju Ju’ ( Everly Carganilla).
The series will consist of six 30-minute episodes and will premiere on August 20. It was previously announced for August 27. Joining Peet as executive producers as Sandra Oh, David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Bernie Caulfield and Daniel Gray Longino. Writers are Peet, along with Annie Julia Wyman, Richard E. Robbins, Jennifer Kim and Andrea Troyer. Director of all episodes is Daniel Gray Longino.
Joining Oh in the series is Jay Duplass as Professor Bill Dobson; Holland Taylor as Professor Joan Hambling; Bob Balaban as Professor Elliot Rentz; Nana Mensah as Professor Yaz McKay; David Morse as Dean Paul Larson; Everly Carganilla as Ju-Hee “Ju Ju” Kim; among others.
