Chloë Grace Moretz, Algee Smith, and Raúl Castillo on ‘Mother/Android’

Chloë Grace Moretz, Algee Smith, and Raúl Castillo star in the new Hulu Original, Mother/Android. The film began streaming on Friday, December 17. Moretz portrays Georgia, Smith plays Sam, and Castillo takes on the role of Arthur.

Set in the near future, Mother/Android follows Georgia (Chloë Grace Moretz) and her boyfriend Sam (Algee Smith) through their treacherous journey of escape as their country is caught in an unexpected war with artificial intelligence. Days away from the arrival of their first child, they must face No Man’s Land – a stronghold of the android uprising, in hopes of reaching safety before giving birth.

Moretz is now in production on the sci-fi thriller series The Peripheral and pre-production for Love is a Gun. She also served as an executive producer on Snapchat’s Discover series Coming Out, which premiered on July 25. The actress’ film credits include Shadow in the Cloud, Greta, The Miseducation of Cameron Post, Suspiria, Kick-Ass, Let Me in, Hugo, Tom and Jerry, If I Stay, Dark Shadows, Carrie, The 5th Wave, 500 Days of Summer, The Equalizer, and Bolt. She also lent her voice to the character of Wednesday Addams in both The Addams Family as well as The Addams Family 2.

Smith will be seen reprising his role in season 2 of Euphoria, which premieres on Sunday, January 9. The actor’s other credits include Judas and the Black Messiah, Amend, The Hate U Give, Detroit, and New Edition. His performance in Detroit, which also features his original song ”Grow” on the official soundtrack, earned him a NAACP best Actor Nomination.

Castillo is best known for his portrayal of Paps in We the Animals, which brought him an Independent Spirit Award nomination. For his starring role as Richie in Looking, he earned the Lupe Award from the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP). Currently, he is shooting The Inspection. The actor can also be seen in Vida, Atypical, Seven Seconds, Easy, Nurse Jackie, Blue Bloods, Law and Order, Riverdale, and Gotham. Castillo’s film credits include Amexicano, The Same Storm, Night Teeth, Army of the Dead, Wrath of Man, Little Fish, Special Correspondents, Unsane, Cold Weather, Limbo, El Chicano, Don’t Let Me Drown, My Best Day, The Girl, Permission, as well as Bless Me, Ultima.
