Atsuko Okatsuka’s Grandmother Comes Clean in ‘Made From Scratch’ Clip

Fuse’s standout original series Made From Scratch invites viewers into the kitchens of their favorite celebrities, like comedian Atsuko Okatsuka, as they cook their favorite dishes while sharing their most cherished memories with loved ones.

On the March 15 episode, Okatsuka talks candidly with her grandmother about how she was told they would be taking a vacation in the US but in reality ended up as undocumented immigrants in Los Angeles. While the story has been a part of Okatsuka’s stand-up act, this is the first time her grandmother has openly admitted to lying to her about how they came to the US.

You may recall, I interviewed the comedian in December right before her debut HBO special, The Intruder, debuted. In our conversation, Okatsuka discussed her grandmother’s story of coming to America. Now you can get the whole story on Fuse.

Check out the clip below.

New episodes of Made From Scratch debut every Wednesday on Fuse and stream on Fuse+.
