Oh man! This is making my skin crawl and my chest burst with anticipation! Alien: Romulus, a new standalone film set in Ridley Scott’s legendary Alien universe is stalking its way into theaters this summer! Today, we got a new full trailer for the upcoming, terrifying, sci-fi horror film!

Directed and co-written by Fede Alvarez, who gave us an excellent Evil Dead remake and Don’t Breathe, the trailer gives us something that will truly leave us breathless: a return to claustrophobic horror in the Alien franchise. With a cast that includes Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, Archie Renaux, and Aileen Wu, Alien: Romulus introduces us to a few new characters, as they scavenge the remains of an abandoned space station, that appears to have been invaded by chest bursters and xenomorphs!

Take a look at the terrifying new trailer here:

Alvarez seems to really be a huge fan, having even spoken with producer Scott for the Alien 40th anniversary event this past year. And as such, he seems to understand what made that first movie so great: simplicity in its concept and scares. We’re seeing a lot of great callbacks and back-to-basics concepts littered throughout this trailer. And I, for one, cannot wait to see more!

Alien: Romulus hits theaters August 16!
