This was a big week for the big two. Marvel kicked it off with the first look at Avengers: Doomsday, and DC closed it with trailers for Clayface and Lanterns. Makes sense. It is Comic-Con time, after all.
Sophia started things off interviewing the stars and director of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. She got Destin Daniel Cretton, Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal, and Jacob Batalon to open up about staying grounded while making a blockbuster full of spectacle.
Next, Mike rewatched the Doomsday trailer eleventy million times, and broke the whole thing down frame-by-frame. Speaking of trailers, Nikita shared one for the latest in Disney Channel’s Camp Rock franchise, while Edward shared info about a hybrid animated/live action short making its premiere at Comic-Con.
Speaking of Comic-Con, I dove into why DC Studios decided to skip Hall H (again) in favor of using the internet to tease and drop their trailers instead. Also, be sure to follow us on Instagram and TikTok so you can see the NOC crew on the floor and in the streets of San Diego all weekend.
Finally, Keina got to see an early screening of Hadestown: The Musical, the only Greek myth worth watching on the big screen this weekend — because everyone has seen The Odyssey already, right? — and wrote a review of it as well.
