Disney Brings ‘Wish’ to Life with Asha Character Greetings at Disneyland Resort

Beginning Nov. 17, 2023, for a limited time, a new water short highlighting the story behind the wishing star from Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “Wish,” will be presented ahead of “World of Color – Season of Light” at Disney California Adventure Park. When the lights dim around Paradise Bay, Asha and Star take guests on a journey set to the song “This Wish” from the film. Animated projections, majestic fountains synchronized to music, dazzling lasers, and sparkling lighting effects magically combine to tell the story of how stars can guide, inspire and remind us to believe in possibility. Wish is now playing in theaters, and Disneyland Resort wants to celebrate the film’s theatrical run by inviting guests to meet Asha for a limited time.

Asha from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Wish is now greeting guests in EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and will soon make her way to Disneyland Park in California and Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris. At Walt Disney World Resort, guests can dream big with Asha in a special location near the entrance to World Showcase. Beginning November 22 at Disneyland Resort, Asha will appear outside The Royal Hall in Fantasyland, bringing with her a touch of the magical kingdom of Rosas as Star’s playful glow lights up the area. Beginning today at Disneyland Park, Asha is appearing outside The Royal Hall in Fantasyland, bringing with her a touch of the magical kingdom of Rosas as Star’s playful glow lights up the area. Asha is a whip-smart 17-year-old who wishes upon a star when she learns a terrible truth about the kingdom’s beloved and exalted King Magnifico. The wish is so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force called Star. This mischievous ball of energy helps guide Asha confront the ruler and teach her that when the will one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen.

If you have a park hopper, you can see a water short called “This Wish” is performing ahead of “World of Color – Season of Light” at Disney California Adventure Park. The short features animated projections, fountains, lasers and lighting effects illustrate how stars can guide, inspire and remind us to believe in possibility. Over at the Animation Academy, guests can learn to draw characters from Wish.

Beginning Nov. 22, 2023, a ‘Valentino’ popcorn bucket and a ‘Star’ sipper based on characters of the same name from Walt Disney Animation Studios film Wish, will be available at select locations throughout the Disneyland Resort in California.
