Hugh Grant, Christian Slater, Max Greenfield, and Sarah Cooper are all part of the hilarious and talented Unfrosted cast. I was lucky enough to chat with them about their new movie, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
Michigan, 1963. Kellogg’s and Post, sworn cereal rivals, race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever. A tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen, Unfrosted stars writer/director Jerry Seinfeld.
“Thurl Ravenscroft, the actor who in real life in the ‘60s was the voice of Tony the Tiger, is the sort of person I like playing now. I got the feeling he was an angry, disappointed, self-important, narcissistic person, rather like myself, and I like bringing that to the screen,” Grant shared.
Greenfield, who portrays Rick Ludwin, expressed, “I was really lucky I had Amy [Schumer] to play off of the whole time and she just — that just was a dream.”
“I love the scene with Sebastian Maniscalco, who’s trying to be this detective, and he’s showing us this film and we just have to be so serious, and my character’s always just taking notes,” Cooper, who plays Poppy Northcutt, explained. “So I’m just taking notes on Sebastian Maniscalco talking about Pop-Tart research. I don’t know, it’s just ridiculous and funny.”
“I like my milk truck. I thought that was cool, not every day you get to have a milk truck,” Slater, who brings the character of Mike Diamond to life, commented. “It was fun to ring the little bell and just be hanging out in my milk truck.”
We talked about what was most fun about playing their individual characters, who they were most excited to work with, their favorite Kellogg’s mascot or product, childhood toys, and more.
