George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, has said that when he made the original trilogy of films, the initial target audience were kids. And yet, in the time since then, not only has that detail seemed to have been lost in the ongoing discourse on the franchise, but rarely has there been Star Wars productions with said demographic as the central characters.
That is one of the defining details about Skeleton Crew, as it follows a group of kids who get lost in space, and then have to figure out how to navigate their way across the galaxy to get back home.

Actor Ravi Cabot-Conyers, who plays one of those kids, Wim, recently spoke with The Nerds of Color about how he relates to the character, how his parents helped him get ready for the role, watching The Goonies with the cast, and on finding joy in working on Skeleton Crew and his previous works as well.
Skeleton Crew arrives with a two-episode premiere to Disney+ on December 3.
