While covering the 2025 Disney Upfront red carpet, I caught up with Percy Jackson and the Olympians stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri. They discussed being forever part of the legacy created by Rick Riordan’s beloved book series through their portrayals of Percy, Grover Underwood, and Annabeth Chase.

In the new season, Percy Jackson returns to Camp Half-Blood one year later to find his world turned upside down. His friendship with Annabeth is changing, he learns he has a cyclops for a brother, Grover has gone missing, and camp is under siege from the forces of Kronos. Percy’s journey to set things right will take him off the map and into the deadly Sea of Monsters, where a secret fate awaits the son of Poseidon.
This story has resonated with generations of fans from diverse walks of life. How does it feel knowing these characters are forever associated with you now as part of the legacy?
Aryan Simhadri: That’s crazy.
Leah Sava Jeffries: The most amazing question ever.
Walker Scobell: It was deep. We’ve got a lot of “Who’s surviving the zombie apocalypse?” questions.
Simhadri: Yeah, so it’s a nice change of pace. Opening up the new trilogy and seeing our names written on the front page, that’s insane. That never loses its magic.
Scobell: Never used that. Every time I’m in a bookstore, I look for that. It’s crazy.
Simhadri: Crazy.

Jeffries: Crazy. You guys are saying it’s crazy, that’s why I just wanted to match. But honestly, I think it’s actually really surreal because we’re so young and we’re literally in a room full of people who are — not old in a weird way — but just people who have already been in the industry, and we’re literally right beside those people. So I think it’s just really a blessing how God really put us here and us being here with, like, literally we’re in the same proximity as Glen Powell, Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri. She literally called me her mini-me, like, what the heck? She literally said, “My mini-me.”
Simhadri: That’s awesome.
Scobell: You’re right.
Jeffries: How could that get any better, guys? Come on, tell me how. You can’t. You can’t tell me.
The second season, based on The Sea of Monsters, premieres on December 10 on Disney+ and Hulu. The show has also already been renewed for a third season.
