Emily Hampshire Talks Her New Role in ‘Slip’

Emily Hampshire plays Sandy in Slip. The show’s first season is now officially streaming on The Roku Channel.

Mae is restless in a life and marriage that works. There is love between her and her husband, but little romance. When Mae “slips” and has a one-night stand with Eric, a handsome man she meets at a bar, she wakes up the next morning in a panic, only to realize she’s entered a parallel universe in which she and Eric are married. This is the start of her surreal journey as she slips into other realities and relationships, trying to find a way back to her husband, and ultimately, herself.

We discussed why the story stood out to her, the comedy genre, her favorite filming memories, working with Zoe Lister-Jones, and much more!

“It’s just so smart and it’s so relatable, I think, too. I’ve been married before and it’s always that like, [the] grass is greener,” she explains to me. “Even when Mae’s relationship is good, you always wonder what else the other life could have been. I think that’s why I became an actor. I am not satisfied with this one life and I always want to know what it’s like in some other circumstance.”
