With only a week to go before another consequential presidential election, perhaps the most consequential, it’s more vital than ever that voters are informed of the stakes before pulling that lever. That’s why comics industry giants like Denys Cowan, Greg Pak, Matt Fraction, Greg Rucka, Jen Van Meter, Jim Ottaviani, and dozens more came together earlier this month to publish Stop Project 2025.
Spurred to action by longtime IDW editor Scott Dunbier and DC/Marvel artist Steve Lieber, nearly 50 artists and writers came together to adapt the conservative Heritage Foundation’s 900+-page roadmap for a second Trump presidency into a series of comics that explain the dangers inherent in that agenda, including restrictions on reproductive freedom, plans to dismantle the government, widening the gap between rich and poor, mass deportations, and several other dystopian outcomes.
The comics are all free to read and download. Even better, they are designed to be shared across social media and even IRL social circles. The point of the comics is to distill complex and complicated information into an easier to digest format. (I know a thing or two about what it takes since I helped the Smithsonian create an online digital comic about key moments in Asian American history.)
Trump and his running mate have denied any knowledge of Project 2025 (shocker, they’re lying). But even if they haven’t read every page of the 900-page manifesto, their words and actions on the campaign trail signal their willingness to adopt every tenet in Project 2025. That’s why these comic industry avengers assembled to create Stop Project 2025. As Lieber recently told comics journalist Rob Salkowitz in Forbes, “Imagine if we could put this kind of volunteer effort into making things better instead of having to fight to keep things from getting worse. But I’m proud to be part of a project like this, and I hope that people are able to use some of our comics to explain everything that’s going on to their family and friends, and why it’s so important to make the effort to vote this year.”

And make no mistake, a vote for Donald Trump, or let’s be honest any third party candidate, is a vote for the elements laid out in Project 2025. You don’t have to love Kamala Harris, but you have to understand the consequences if she doesn’t win on November 5, and each one of them are laid out in comic form in Stop Project 2025.
