It’s still a bittersweet symphony. Prime Video just released the trailer for its upcoming series Cruel Intentions, and it looks deliciously twisted. The new teen drama is a “ruthless,” modern take on the cult classic 1999 film of the same name.
Per the official synopsis, Cruel Intentions “follows the elite students of Manchester College, a Washington, D.C.-adjacent university, where reputation means everything, fraternities and sororities are the gold standard.” Like the original film, it centers on two step-siblings who will do whatever it takes to keep their reputations and power intact.
The series stars Sarah Catherine Hook (First Kill) as Caroline Merteuil, Zac Burgess (Boy Swallows Universe) as Lucien Belmont, and Savannah Lee Smith (Gossip Girl) as Annie Grover. Other starring cast members include Sara Silva as Cece Carroway, John Harlan Kim as Blaise Powell, Khobe Clarke as Scott Russell, Sean Patrick Thomas as Professor Hank Chadwick, and Brooke Lena Johnson as Beatrice Worth.

Sara Goodman and Phoebe Fisher (I Know What You Did Last Summer) serve as co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers on the series. Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty executive produce alongside Roger Kumble; Moritz produced the 1999 film while Kumble directed and wrote the script. Bruce Mellon, Andrea Iervolino, and Monika Bacardi are also producers.
The eight-episode season premieres on Prime Video on November 21. Check out the official trailer below:
