Final ‘Kingdom of the Planets of the Apes’ Trailer Teases Evolution and Revolution

The first Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy followed the rise, dawn, and war of ape-kind against their human oppressors. Though Wes Ball‘s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes isn’t a continuation of the trilogy, it’s an extension of the franchise that takes place many generations after Ceasar’s passing. And now a final trailer reveals how the first elder’s words were lost to the passing of time, and how one ape’s journey reminds us about the importance of preserving history and the dangers of perverting it.

‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ Trailer Chronicles an Orphan’s Rise to Becoming a King

Jon Favreau’s photorealistic animated retelling of of 1994’s The Lion King was one of the highest grossing Disney live-action adaptations of an animated classic. Of course, earning $1.6 billion would be more than enough to get the studio’s interest in pursuing more stories. But rather than a direct sequel, the studio has tasked director Barry Jenkins helm Mufasa: The Lion King, a photorealistic animated prequel that chronicles the young lives of orphans and outsiders Mufasa and Scar, the former of whom would be king. And Disney has released the first trailer for the upcoming film.

NOC Review: Lackluster ‘Imaginary’ is More Fantasy Than Horror

This time last year, Blumhouse was on a roll. M3GAN was making a killing at the box office. And the year prior they released the final film of David Gordon Green’s Halloween trilogy, and the critical and commercial hit, The Black Phone, paving the way for the juggernauts of Insidious: The Red Door and Five Nights at Freddy’s. Unfortunately, following the disappointing Night Swim, the house that Jason Blum built has seen a rough 2024. And sadly the streak continues with the new lackluster film, Imaginary.
