Walt Disney Animation Studios has released the newest trailer for Zootopia 2. In it, Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) find themselves in “partners in crisis” therapy. Just as they are navigating their predator and prey partnership, they are put on a make-or-break case that has them pursuing Gary (Ke Huy Quan) venomous new threat that slithers into town.
The trailer teases a sequel that leans into classic buddy-cop tropes with a healthy dose of emotional growth. Judy and Nick are grouped with other hilariously mismatched duos — like an elephant and a mouse with unresolved size issues, or a space-invading armadillo who won’t stop licking their visibly uncomfortable bear partner. During therapy, Judy nervously taps her foot while speaking over Nick, deflecting insight with a smile. Meanwhile, Nick retreats behind sarcasm and silence, his emotional distance quietly fueling Judy’s growing insecurity.
It doesn’t take long for their therapy to be put to the test when they’re assigned a make-or-break case — tracking down Gary, a venomous snake whose arrival coils into a twisting mystery threatening the entire animal metropolis.
The trailer then jumps into exploring more of the unseen parts of Zootopia and teasing how one would enter Marshtown — think extreme water park slides that’s dialed to an 11 on a scale of 10 — while reintroducing us to characters like pop-star and mammal-rights activist Gazelle (Shakira), the slowest DMV employee Flash Slothmore (Raymond S. Persi), and the shrew crime family Mr. Big (Maurice LaMarche) and Fru-Fru (Leah Latham). They will be joined by Nibbles (Fortune Feimster) and quokka therapist Dr. Fuzzby (Quinta Brunson).
“It’s been an absolute joy to reteam with so many actors who made the first film so special, and so exciting to expand the world with our phenomenal new cast members,” said director/writer Jared Bush (chief creative officer for Walt Disney Animation Studios). “I can’t wait for audiences to see what other surprises we have in store in this brand-new adventure.”
Returning voice cast also includes Idris Elba (voice of Chief Bogo), Bonnie Hunt (voice of Bonnie Hopps), Don Lake (voice of Stu Hopps), Nate Torrence (voice of Clawhauser), Jenny Slate (voice of Bellwether), Alan Tudyk (voice of Duke Weaselton), Josh Dallas (voice of Frantic Pig), and Tommy Chong (voice of Yax).
Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, who use a script written by Bush, Zootopia 2 hits theaters on November 26, 2025.
