There’s no argument that the Blumhouse of Horrors (aka Blumhouse Productions) has made as profound an impact on the horror genre as Marvel Studios has on comic book films. With just a few low-budget hits, Jason Blum put his stamp, not just on horror, but the entire film industry as a whole. We had a chance to sit with the head of Blumhouse, himself, to talk about his latest upcoming masterpiece, The Black Phone. Check out our interview here!

NOC Review: ‘The Black Phone’ is the Best Modern Ghost Story Since ‘The Sixth Sense’

This will be a weird way to start a review, but there’s a part of me that’s mixed on how I feel about Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill departing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. On one hand, though I enjoyed the Marvel Studios romp, I can’t help but wonder how much better it would have been if they had stayed on board to write and direct. On the other, and most importantly, I’m glad they were able to leave, because it meant that we got The Black Phone — honestly one of my favorite movies this year so far!

20th Century Studios has released the first trailer for Dan Trachtenberg’s (The Boys, 10 Cloverfield Lane) Prey, a revival that breathes new life into the cult classic Predator film franchise. But rather than set it in modern-day times, the film steps 300 years back in time, where the fearsome titular hunting alien faces off against Naru (Amber Midthunder), a fierce and highly skilled female warrior of the Comanche Nation.

‘Mr. Malcolm’s List’ Trailer is Full of Romantic Charm and Delight

Whenever I hear there is a new romance period piece centering classic or historical novels, I typically shrug at the idea of it being done over and over again by the same white actors. Although I do love Colin Firth’s Mr. Darcy, as well as Tom McFadden’s version of him, there have been 18 adaptations of the Jane Austen classic — only two of which centers around people of color (Bride & Prejudice, Fire Island).

‘Resident Evil’ Trailer Breakdown, Analysis, and Easter Eggs

The first trailer for Netflix’s new Resident Evil trailer released this morning. Although it did give us our first glimpse at the story, characters, and settings of this new take on the canon, it didn’t reveal much else. At least, not directly. Like the games that inspired it, Resident Evil hid quite a few details in the background of its teaser. Details that could lead to the mystery behind this new iteration’s virus outbreak. And wouldn’t ya know it, the Umbrella Corporation is most definitely involved.
