‘Street Fighter’ Drops Epic New Trailer and Goes Global

The newest Street Fighter trailer takes a closer look at Ryu and Ken’s storyline and the complex world of tournament fighting. Outside of the tournaments, the cast has kicked off its world tour in Japan with stops across Tokyo, including Sensō-ji Temple.

Set in the early ‘90s, we now have a glimpse into the rivalry between Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken (Noah Centineo) in the latest trailer release. Ryu is called into the world of tournament fighting in order to help save Ken, who demonstrates anything but gratitude as he tries to prove himself outside of Ryu’s shadow. While it’s clear the film will explore their broken relationship, we also get some fun moments with Guile (Cody Rhodes), whose witty comments and facial expressions tell us this film is not shying away from being camp in the most action-packed way possible.

The cast has been on the move recently, making appearances across Tokyo, Japan to screen the newest trailer for fans. On Tuesday, the film’s stars Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, Callina Liang and Jason Momoa, along with Japanese voice talent Eiko Kano, director Kitao Sakurai and Street Fighter game director Takayuki Nakayama participated in a trailer launch across the Shinjuku Yunika Vision screens in Tokyo. Today, the cast and director visited Sensō-ji Temple for a fun photo call.

With hype for the film building before its release next month, fans can take part in some of the fun on Reddit. The film has just released exclusive GIFs and Snoovatars that you can access online. They’ve also dropped a Street Fighter quiz to help you determine which Street Fighter character you are.
