Action has a new name: Nathan Caine is Novocaine! If that sounds like a tagline for a classic action romp, it’s because that’s exactly what Novocaine is! However, an action hero is only as good as the badasses supporting him. And in this case those badasses are Amber Midthunder and Jacob Batalon!

Given their histories with films like Prey and the MCU Spider-Man series, Midthunder and Batalon have proven their statuses as action gems! And in Novocaine they get further opportunities to shine opposite Jack Quaid’s physically desensitized scrappy hero. Midthunder in particular has some particularly badass moments in the film’s final act. While Batalon showcases once more why he is the genre’s best “guy-in-the-chair.”

Admittedly it’s wonderful to see POCs like both of them getting huge roles in mainstream Hollywood films – especially to the quality of Prey, Spider-Man, and now Novocaine! We had the great pleasure of getting to sit down with Midthunder and Batalon to talk about their statuses as new action icons and the absolutely squirm-inducing scenes from Novocaine.
